Pearl-Catherine Tita was born in the downtown core of Toronto, Ontario, however, she was raised in the east end suburb of Scarborough. She studied at York University where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology. When she was 8-years-old, she began writing birthday cards for family members; aspiring to work for Hallmark one day. However, the separation of her parents at 11-years-old would be the catalyst for more in-depth pieces of writing. Pearl-Catherine would finally publish her first book in April of 2021. Beneath The Shade: The Poetic Self-Discoveries and Realizations of a Fellow Human, is a poetic summary of mental spaces that many people occupy during the course of their lives. Experience self-awareness, love, heartbreak, and more through poetic words which have been influenced by her life and the lives of those around her.
